Art Historian Prof. Dr. Valeriano Venneri about the Art of Monika Kovatsch, Master of Science Environmental Planning and Ecological Engineering (TUM)

In the works of the artist Monika Kovatsch, the viewer has the sensation of being absorbed by being attracted, captured, of becoming part of these wonderful compositions performed with very well-combined colors and put into a harmonious and enjoyable composition. Her well elaborated and skilfully crafted works of art have a very important and thoughtful work of creation, the result of a wide range of studies and experiences in the artistic field. The artistic values on which her works of art are based are essentially, in my opinion, spirituality and the relationship that the Spirit assumes with the atmospheres that surround her. The artist offers us an approach deriving from the divine Intellect that comes to human atmospheres, making them unique and unrepeatable. Monika Kovatsch paints her profound interiority and the relationship that her ego can have, on the one hand with the supernatural being and on the other hand with earthlyness, with the finite world. In the German artist's works, one can almost always notice levels. A level that has a relationship with the human being the atmosphere, environment, air and the supernatural. It is exactly this divine interlude made by her splendid atmosphere that is the meeting point between the earthly dimension and the spiritual dimension. Although her canvases appear like fully covered, the whole work becomes evanescent, intangible in certain points. Where Kovatsch needs to underline some messages that can be related to light, revelation, existence, by looking and scrutinizing carefully, you will always notice a detail, at least one, sometimes even more than one, that characterizes her work, her most intimate path and this close, indissoluble relationship that she has with the Divine Being. The relationship between the eternal spiritual and the finite and transient earthly is the fundamental point of the message of the artist Monika Kovatsch. The suspended, the silencio, are the crucial moment in which these two spheres, these two worlds, meet. She is capable of it, in a formidable way. By creating suggestive atmospheres, fading, attenuating the colors, she wants the canvas to describe this particular moment of encounter between the divine universe and the earthly universe. The relationship the artist has with the spiritual essence, is a strong, confident bond. In her introspective journey, which can almost be compared to the creative process, she lays the foundation for the realization of this important artistic achievement. The path leading to the completion of a work of art, especially because it is "born" from the deep self, is an itinerary fraught with difficulties, thoughts, rethinking and experimentation, which the artist brings to the realization with great skill. The size of the canvas, the use of certain colors instead of others. The positioning of more vivid flashes of color in one part, nothing is the result of randomness. The fading of some shades have the aim of creating this atmospheric harmony, present in the works of the great artists of the past as well as in the works of Monika Kovatsch. Capturing, stopping, and then painting the one, sometimes even more than one detail, that characterizes her work, her most intimate path and this close, indissoluble relationship that she has with the Divine Being. The fading of some shades have the aim of creating this atmospheric harmony, present in the works of the great artists of the past as well as in the works of Monika Kovatsch. Capturing, stopping, and then painting the moment in which you want to give substance to an evanescent idea called atmosphere, is the most important and magnificent revelation of the artist's works. An atmosphere that must first of all be felt, perceived, and then be contemplated as a symbol of beauty and grandeur. Kovatsch's art is an art that must be felt with emotions, with sensations and then enters the visual sphere. An art produced by the Intellect and which must return to the Intellect, after having traveled a circular, spherical journey. The celestial spheres, angelic with ideal music, meet with weaknesses and earthly impermanence, creating an intriguing and profound atmosphere, the highest point that can be reached, the conjunction, the link between a divine nature and a human nature. The atmosphere, in the art of Monika Kovatsch, could be compared to a pause, a reflection, a faded memory, a never forgotten memory that returns in time. With very harmonic color combinations and with a balanced composition, she creates this perspective, individual and intimate of a dialectical discourse between human existence and the spiritual essence. The element of creating atmospheres, environments, areas, is the most innovative element, in this moment of art, the German artist believes that the composition must have strength, personality, but must make the user "perceive" the most intangible, more evanescent, those points of view that give moral strength to the work and to those who hear it. Feeling, perceiving, are the sensations that we can trace in the works of the artist. Internal introspection and profound observation for Nature, translated into cornerstones of her artistic career. Monika Kovatsch's answer finds a possible solution in Love, in the sense of Amor Vincit Omnia, spiritual, vital essential that allows humanity to get as close as possible to the divine, to the spiritual. Monika's artistic poetics is a constant education in the elevation of the individual, a constant search to improve, to sublimate her existence.

Le atmosfere spirituali di Monika Kovatsch

by Valeriano Venneri
